Letters To My Daughter

The Eve of Your First Birthday

December 26, 2016December 27, 2016Writing Melvi1099 views

This time last year I was rounding my 24th hour into labor with you my sweet baby girl. I was feeling scared, panicked, and anxious. I was so afraid that something was wrong and wasn’t sure why you were taking your sweet time coming out! You came out on your own time, just as you’ve learned to roll, crawl, and walk. All on your terms and all on your own time. You have brought me to life, and given my existence a whole new meaning. I thought that I was the happiest that I could ever be when I married your Father, and you have shattered that ceiling of happiness a million times over from the moment they put you on my chest in the hospital until the day you started taking your first steps. You’ve stolen our hearts sweet girl, so I’m going to keep this short and sweet because your Daddy and I have been emotional wrecks all week long preparing for your very first Christmas and your first Birthday party. You have been a complete joy this year; always smiling, sweet, and for the most part the calmest and happiest baby I’ve ever been blessed to be around. You are our greatest love, our greatest accomplishment, and our greatest adventure. If the rest of our forever is going to be anything like this first year with you, we’ll be the happiest and most grateful parents in the entire world.

We adore you,

Mommy and Daddy

This picture was taken on Christmas morning when we first came down and you discovered all your new gifts, and saw our perfect little breakfast picnic area. You had a blast baby girl. I can’t wait to tell you about your first Christmas day and all the fun little traditions we started with you.
